Round: Test
Experience: There were standard quantitative, logical reasoning, data interpretation and verbal ability questions split into 3 sections. Totally around 60 questions. Total Time allowed was around 1 hour.
Apart from this there was a behavioural assessment. It had 5 sections of 8 questions each. A video clipping would simulate situations that you might face during work. Round: Other Interview
Experience: There was only one round of interview. It was for around 30 minutes. They asked me to explain my resume points. The interview also consisted of a case study, a guesstimate and 2 technical questions on image processing and voice recognition and 3 standard HR questions. They also asked me to suggest a business idea where i would use data analytics.
Tips: Prepare for Case study using Day 1.0 book. Prepare for Guesstimates from material posted by BC. Prepare for HR questions for 64 HR questions book. If possible take courses related to data analytics. The courses which I undertook were Multivariate Data Analysis, Prognostics & Health Management of Machine Tools.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Most people with CGPA more than 7.5 made it to the test shortlist.

Round: Test
Experience: Not very different from the aptitude tests of most other companies. Technical test was also like an aptitude test but involved more questions from probability.
Duration: 1 hour

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I had course relating to multivariate data analysis and applied time series. The interviewer mostly checked how comfortable I am with thise topics. Following this he asked a probability question. How many times do you have to toss a coin until you get 2 heads in a row?
After this he asked about my project where I had mathematically solved partial differential equations. He asked more about the methods that I used and so on.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: A long interview with 2 panelists. It is very important to come well prepared for this rpund. It is okay if the technical round wasnt as good as expected but HR interview is critical.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Technical questions were based on IC engines, dome, strength of materials and few questions related to turbo-machines. Basically they covered almost every core topic. They are not based on bookish knowledge rather questions were related to practical applications.
Aptitude- this part is very important and is the deciding round. Try to score as high as possible in this section.
Tips: Practice aptitude, pariksha tests will serve the purpose.
Technical- apart from brushing all your core concepts, also go through sample mechanical engineering test questions on internet.
Duration: 45 minutes

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: Interview was completely technical. They asked me what were my projects and internships and which was the favorite one. Make sure u know everything about your project/internship. If it is IC Engines related they will grill u on that. Mine were on heat transfer (jet impingement cooling) and turbomachines. They asked me to explain about them.

They asked me about the ic engines lab experiment which was on emissions and asked me to draw the emission characteristics (co, Hc, NOx).
Other questions were related to porous media (my Btech project), cruising and idling conditions and air/fuel ratios, emission norms in India etc
Tips: Make sure in every explanation u give u should highlight the R&D aspect of it. They were particularly looking for people interested in R&D.
Brush all the core topics, especially IC engines. If you did any work related to ic engines they will ask u on that, else they will test your subject knowledge.
Also learn something about the latest technologies in automobiles and how bajaj contributed to them.

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: 18 people were shortlisted for the first round of interview. They looked for positions of responsibility, all round activity through out your stay at IIT Madras.
Tips: My PORs helped me to get me through this round. (I think)

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: They were testing me if I am really interested to work for Rivigo. This was more of a HR round with very less technical questions related profile. My Dual degree project was in Optimisation, so was grilled a lot on my DDP.
