No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

As much as I enjoy working at Cloudraft, one challenge has been the comparatively lower salary, which I understand is due to it being an early-stage startup. However, I firmly believe in Cloudraft's potential and the value it delivers. The experience, growth opportunities, and supportive work environment more than make up for this, and I'm confident the company will grow, bringing greater rewords for everyone involved.

I like working at CloudRaft because its genuinely a great vibe. The hierarchy here is super flat, so the senior folks are not bosses but more like mentors. That makes the whole place feel calm and supportive. Everyone sets the tone by example so you do not feel pushed but naturally motivated.

I am working at CloudRaft since last 6 months. The work-life balance is great. CloudRaft is a remote first company with 5 working days. It provides Family Insurance to full-time employees as well. CloudRaft's CEO promotes great work culture and professional growth within team. We also have fun virtual meets like Fun Thursday, Diwali Lunch meet, etc. A great place to work and grow.
