What i find attractive interning at CSIR-NIO Goa is the positive work culture, everyone is friendly and ready to help, collaborate and support each other. Scientist are willing to share their experience support and encouraging us to push our limit.

Dislikes

The only thing that was unfavorable about CSIR NIO GOA was that you need to have a prebooking of 7 months for hostel accommodation.

Good environment. Team mates and scientists are cooperative & supportive. I was Dissertation student over there in which no stipend was provided.

Open, relaed atmosphere to do research in, Great, experienced group of scientists and technical officers. Leading institutes in ocean sciences and applied sciences.

Dislikes

Utilisation of project fellow as mere work horses in certain labs is demeaning and adds no value to the individuals career.

Extremely good training for research, good place to discover research aptitude. Good learning experience, well equipped labs, cutting edge research facilities.

Dislikes

Work life balance is lacking, collaboration between departments rarely exists paving ways to unhealthy competition.

I did my internship and Masters Dissertation from NIO on metagenomics. It has had a great impact on me to pursue research in the long run. Also job opportunities like P.A posts exists, which will be a pathway for research career here.
