As a purchaser , it is good for work place.. but it is too far from my home around 3 hour journey from home. Salary is too low but i still survive . Permanent opportunity nothing.

It is a war shipbilding company. Primary customer is Indian Navy. 1st warship of \Indian Navy was built by GREway back in 1960 when other Indian shipbuilders did ot exist in a big way. It being Defense based company its business is somewhat not affected by market sentiment ,recession etc. Hence order book is normally quite full.But competition is tough and margin is quite low as such operating profit is also quite low. Job is well secured, but growth is limited because of combination of PSU rules and organisation culture.Rules like reservation etc sometime play adverse on growth of real candidate adding value to the organisation. Performance and related reward is not having a streight line equation to promote merit some time to comply with age old PSU guidelines which may not be very relavant in present business scenario.
