Trina, Daidohant launch new load-bearing mounting solution for heavy snowfall
- Trina Solar, a Chinese solar manufacturer, has collaborated with Japan's Daidohant on a new load-bearing mounting solution for heavy snowfall.
- The solution, called PV Support, suppresses deformation of solar panels with a special bar attached to the back of the module.
- This mounting system allows for the safe installation of solar modules in areas with heavy snowfall, particularly on seam-type folded plate roofs.
- The load tests conducted with various solar modules have shown improved load-bearing capabilities and reduced risks of module damage.

New method to predict potential induced degradation in glass-glass TOPCon solar modules
- A research group led by Trina Solar has developed a new method to predict potential induced degradation (PID) in dual-glass solar panels.
- The methodology, based on the Arrhenius equation, aims to evaluate the impact of actual operating light on PID.
- The study conducted PID tests on dual-glass bifacial n-type TOPCon solar modules, under different temperature and humidity conditions, demonstrating the potential degradation over a 30-year period in various locations.
- The new methodology has significant implications for the photovoltaic industry's transition to double ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) encapsulant, and is more readily embraced by clients.
