Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SSCHRC) is a 500-bedded hospital with state-of-the-art facilities to treat cancer. SSCHRC provides quality care to cancer patients at affordable costs, irrespective of caste, creed, gender, education or socioeconomic status. SSCHRC has been rendering services to cancer patients for the last ten years and has been accepted by the patients extremely well. Currently, about 500 outpatients and 100 inpatients are treated, with approximately 150 patients in the Radiotherapy department daily.
The Department of Surgical Oncology consists of the Centre for Breast Diseases, Gynec-Oncology, Uro-Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, Head and Neck, and Bone and Soft Tissue, performing 350 surgical procedures monthly. The Academic Cell includes DNB and Fellowship Programmes recognized under NBE, New Delhi, and RGUHS, Bangalore. SSCHRC also has a College of Nursing delivering a B.Sc. Nursing course.
