Astrology startup AstroTalk's profit jumps 1000% to Rs 100 crore in FY24
- AstroTalk, a digital astrology consultancy startup based in Noida, has reported a 1,000% increase in profits for FY24, reaching Rs 99.99 crore.
- The company's revenue from operations rose by over 100% to Rs 651.12 crore in FY24, with domestic income doubling to Rs 529.6 crore and revenue from overseas markets increasing 4.2 times to Rs 121.44 crore.
- AstroTalk's total expenses increased by 97.9% to Rs 531 crore in FY24, with key contributors including employee benefit expenses and advertising and promotional costs.
- In June, AstroTalk raised $9.5 million in an extension of its Series A funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $300 million.

9 Spiritual Tech Startups Transforming India’s Faith Market
- India’s religious and spiritual market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10% until 2032, creating opportunities for tech-enabled solutions and startups. Over 900 spiritual tech startups exist in India, and they allow e-darshan, e-pooja, and prasad delivery at the doorstep. Spiritual tech startups generate nearly 70% of their revenues from the young generation (25-35 years) and allow non-resident Indians (NRIs) to connect to temples, astrologers, and priests of their choice. Major investors have contributed significantly to the growth of some of these groups.
- The nine spiritual tech startups featured include AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, DevDham, InstaAstro, Japam, Melooha, Temple Connect, Utsav App, and VAMA. Each offers a unique service for spirituality, from creating virtual temples to ecommerce and jewellery. Funding rounds vary by startup, with some receiving millions of dollars for expansion.
