Aide Et Action South Asia

Aide et Action International (AEAI) is an INGO founded in 1981, in Paris. In 2007, it shifted its headquarters’ to Geneva. AEAI operates in 19 countries reaching to more than 3 million people. It envisions a world where “dignity is ensured for all men and women through education” and its mission is “to make education a level for human development”. AEAI was operational in India since 1981 and got registered in 1988 as a not-for-profit private limited company under section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956. Today the India operation is part of the South Asia operations that comprise Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. The AEAI-South Asia office cum AEA (India) office is located in Chennai. AEA’s actions are guided by Nine focal themes; Access to Quality Education, Livelihood Education, Inclusive education, Women’s Education and Empowerment, Disaster preparedness and Mitigation, Health Education and HIV AIDS, Education for Migrating population, Early Child Care and Education and Education for Global Citizenship. The projects are managed by highly professional teams operating from seven sub-regional offices (Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Patna) and thematic units – Finance, HR& OD, Migration Information and Resource Centre (MiRC) and Livelihood Education Units stationed in Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, and Jaipur. The projects are implemented directly by AEA or through partnership with local NGOs. Our initiatives benefit Children from underprivileged sections (Children of Migrant workers, Children living in difficult situations, Children of commercial sex workers, Children affected due to ethnic violence, Dropout children, adolescents, Never enrolled children), Person with Disability, Person Living with HIV/AIDs, Unemployed Youth population, Communities Vulnerable to Natural Disasters and Migrant Population (Distress migrants) with special focus on women and girl child. In 2018, AEAI South Asia supported 7,38,036 people including 1,47,971 children, 5,11,089 adults, 78,976 youth in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.
