AS400 Developer - RPG/400 (4-7 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with expertise in RPG 400 and CL 400, along with strong skills in SQL and Agile development methodologies. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of hands-on experience in AS400 programming and a solid understanding of iSeries development. Experience in banking and financial services is preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain applications using RPG 400 and CL 400 programming languages.

- Enhance and support legacy systems by leveraging RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and free-format coding.

- Work with iSeries Data Queues, User Queues, and Journaling techniques to ensure efficient data handling and processing.

- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

- Perform database queries and optimizations using SQL to support application functionalities.

- Ensure robust Change Management practices with tools like Aldon to manage version control and deployment processes.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.

- Provide support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system reliability.

Desired Skills & Qualifications :

- 4-7 years of experience working with AS400, RPG 400, and CL 400.

- Proficient in RPGLE, CLLE, and SQLRPGLE, including free-format coding.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and its application in AS400 environments.

- Familiarity with Aldon or similar Change Management tools.

- Experience in the banking domain is preferred.

- GMI (Global Market Infrastructure) knowledge is a plus.

- Solid understanding of iSeries Data Queues, User Queues, and Journaling.

- Proven experience working in an Agile development environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical teams and business users.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
