Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Machine Learning (3-8 yrs)

We are seeking an AI Engineer to join the Product Innovation and Development team. The PID Division develops AI-based solutions that are built on a foundation of learning and cognitive science principles that leverage interactive task design, machine learning, and data sciences.

Solutions will be integrated in various teaching, learning, and assessment solutions. The AI Engineer's role is to research, build, train, and deploy multimodal AI models that power innovative features for the AI-based prototypes.

Position Summary :

This position is for staffing the Multimodal AI (MMAI) team, where we are specifically looking out for individuals who have exposure, experience, or even expertise in the following:

Responsibilities :

- Time-series, predictive modeling based on multimodal information (i.e., video, text, speech, and other modalities) for non-cognitive, behavioral performance tasks

- Non-cognitive, behavioral performance-based tasks modeling

- Bias-mitigated modeling where models trained do not encode biases from human annotators, algorithmic biases, or dataset attribute biases

- Implement effective methods of AI/ML model testing during development, deployment, and recalibration

- Utilize best practices around design, coding, automated unit, regression testing, and deployment of AI/ML models to production

- Keeping current with latest AI / NLP / Speech / Video research, especially as they relate to the education field

- Utilize best practices in the responsible use of AI

- Work effectively in the agile-at-scale framework

- Clearly communicate findings to business stakeholders

Experience and Skills :

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses :

- A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related field

Relevant Years of Experience :

- At least three years of training or experience in AI/ML algorithm development

- Experience in technology-enhanced learning solution research and development

Other Requirements :

- Experience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks

- Experience with cloud-based (AWS) deployment of models, performance monitoring and issues troubleshooting

- Experience with ML frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn)

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
