Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Product Manager to lead the development and growth of our software platforms and e-commerce solutions within the book industry. You will play a key role in transforming product offerings, optimizing user experience, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-impact results, leading cross-functional teams, and utilizing data-driven approaches to product management.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Vision & Strategy:
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and goals in alignment with business objectives.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the product roadmap reflects customer needs and market trends.
- Translate business requirements into actionable product plans to ensure sustained growth.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
- Lead a cross-functional team of developers, designers, business analysts, and project managers to drive product initiatives.
- Gather and validate business and technical requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
- Manage the transition from a vendor-based development model to a fully in-house team, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Platform Transformation & User Experience:
- Oversee the optimization of the platform's design and user interface, improving overall usability and enhancing user experience.
- Work with UI/UX designers and engineers to streamline the platform's architecture, ensuring it meets the needs of both publishers and end-users.
- Ensure a mobile-first approach and responsive design to improve user engagement across all devices.
SaaS Solutions for Publishers:
- Lead the development of SaaS-based solutions for publishers, enabling them to create customized B2B portals within our platform.
- Drive the growth of our platform by offering publishers a seamless and scalable solution to manage their digital content and engage with customers.
Revenue Growth & Customer Engagement:
- Develop strategies to grow revenue through both organic user acquisition and increased conversion rates.
- Focus on improving customer retention and increasing lifetime value by providing a superior user experience.
- Implement strategies to optimize the user journey, ensuring a frictionless and engaging experience that drives higher conversions.
Managing Large-Scale Events & Traffic Surges:
- Ensure the platform is scalable and capable of handling large-scale events, such as flash sales or special promotions, without performance degradation.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to optimize servers and databases for high traffic and peak demand periods.
Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize platform performance to reduce operational costs and improve resource allocation.
- Lead initiatives to streamline server infrastructure, decommission unnecessary services, and enhance system efficiency.
- Focus on improving security measures by implementing features like Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and anti-bot protections.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features and user engagement.
- Use analytics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and inform product iteration.
- Conduct A/B testing, usability studies, and market research to refine product features and optimize the user experience.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous product improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the product team, encouraging experimentation and new ideas.
- Ensure the product evolves in response to changing customer needs, technological advancements, and market dynamics.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, marketing, sales, and customer support teams.
- Provide regular updates on product development, performance, and business outcomes.
- Translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Experience & Background:
- Significant experience as a Product Manager, ideally within the book, publishing, or related industries.
- Proven success in managing the full product lifecycle for e-commerce or SaaS platforms.
- Experience with developing solutions for publishers, content management systems (CMS), and digital platforms is a plus.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Strong experience in leading large, cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines, including design, development, business analysis, and customer support.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Technical & Business Acumen:
- Deep understanding of web and mobile technologies, including e-commerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), and SaaS solutions.
- Ability to balance technical requirements with business objectives and customer needs.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is highly desirable.
Innovation & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to business challenges.
- Proven track record of successfully improving user experience and platform performance through innovative product development.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Expertise in using data analytics, KPIs, A/B testing, and other performance metrics to inform product development.
- Ability to translate user feedback and product data into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and align stakeholders across various teams.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Results-Oriented:
- Demonstrated success in driving measurable results, such as increased sales, improved user engagement, or reduced operational costs.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact features.
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in product management, e-commerce, or digital marketing are a plus.
