Role & Responsibilities

This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Global Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The Manager would play a crucial role in the planning, designing and development of electrical systems for large-scale data centers. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that electrical designs meet operational needs, safety standards and regulatory requirements

• Lead and participate in the electrical design of data center projects, including power distribution systems, UPS systems, generator systems, switchgear, distribution boards and lighting systems
• Manage multiple data center projects concurrently, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
• Attend project meetings and represent the company to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Provide expert knowledge on electrical engineering principles, practices, and technologies applicable to data center operations, including high-density power loads, UPS systems, and generator integration
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource allocation plans, ensuring timely delivery of milestones
• Conduct load calculations and modelling to optimize electrical systems' performance and efficiency
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on electrical design-related matters, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle
• Mentor junior engineers and modelers, providing guidance and support in electrical design techniques and career development
• Review and approve team members work
• Prepare and review electrical design documentation, including calculations, specifications, and performance reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical systems
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure a cohesive approach to the design and execution of data center projects
• Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for potential clients
• Review and analyse project plans, layouts, and specifications to identify potential issues and recommend solutions
• Engage with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance, and present design solutions
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery of electrical components within scope and schedule

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum 6 years of experience design, particularly in data centre or critical infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM)
• Experience working on UK/Australia/Middle East projects
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a diverse team
