- The Head of Strategy is responsible for the development of effective strategies and driving them towards execution in order to create value for our stakeholders and transform the business. He / She will also be responsible for the execution of strategic external business research and analysis in order to produce actionable insights for senior management of the company.
- Drive the strategic thinking process for organizational growth. Conduct research in economic, behavioral, technological and industry/competitors trends. Analyze, interpret to identify likely impacts on the organization. Support in taking executive decisions and driving strategic planning process.
- Identify opportunities and drive changes to improve implementation and evaluation of strategic and business planning processes. Steer better performance tracking and reporting of initiatives
- Facilitate the strategic review and planning processes with EXCO members and delivery teams. Supplement the development of aligned and integrated business plans.
- Deliver on the strategic projects through B-O-O- T ( Build - Own - Operate - Transfer) Approach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Impact on the Business / Function: Provide short term and long term strategic views on various aspects of business. The role requires a very good understanding of financial services, insurance and banking environment to synthesize points of view and assess the impact of changes in landscape on Company's strategy.
- Support strategic planning processes, including interdependencies between key business, technology and financial planning processes.
- Highlight and incorporate external & market perspectives and insights from competitive and market intelligence in business decision making.
Facilitate structured reviews of the enterprise portfolio of strategic initiatives & implications (e.g., budget considerations, resource allocation, etc.)
- Work with internal stakeholders to incubate and develop new channels and blue sky initiatives such as Digitization.
- Identify and chart out longer-term roadmap for the Company in line with Company's vision and shareholder priorities, for example, future listing plans.
- Support agenda and materials development for senior executive audiences & meetings e.g., Board Meetings, Executive Offsite, etc. audiences & meetings e.g., Board Meetings, Executive Offsite, etc.
2. Customers / Stakeholders: Identify new strategic initiatives based on customer insights, or provide inputs on how initiatives to be modified
- Identify and engage relevant stakeholders (typically EXCO) in each of the initiatives to solicit their inputs and influence their thinking
- Syndicate preliminary findings and recommendations with the stakeholders; develop action plans
- Exceptional Collaboration and Influencing Skills; the ability to-work closely with various business unit leaders and their teams, strategists and marketers, and peers across Marketing both directly and virtually in a highly matrixed environment to define, deliver and execute the brand strategy, including
- Provide periodic updates to stakeholders on the progress of strategic initiatives
- Communicating well-structured, data-driven, and clearly articulated points-of-view to influence and meet stakeholders 'where they are'
3. Leadership & Teamwork: Provide thought leadership in addressing critical challenges facing the organization
- Work closely with individuals across various functions in the organization including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Legal, IT, and HR.
4. Operational Effectiveness & Control: Clearly define problem statements and build hypothesis on solutions; often the situation will be ambiguous, take leadership in providing clarity and defining the problem
- Approach projects holistically, owning and driving end-to-end delivery of solutions
- Lead execution of key enterprise initiatives by forming collaborative partnerships with colleagues across businesses and functional areas
- Provide feedback on required analyses to advance solution development and to support execution of strategic initiatives
- Define the internal/external market research and market intelligence agenda
- Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in relevant areas
- Manage enterprise governance and communication processes
- Storyline presentations to communicate synthesized findings/status to senior management and Board for their feedback and approval
