Xebia - Senior Linux Storage Engineer - Patch Management (3-8 yrs)

Xebia is hiring Senior Linux Storage Engineer at Gurugram location

Overall purpose :

To monthly patch and mitigate vulnerabilities to enhance overall security posture of Client infrastructure that includes but not limited to Linux/Windows OS and applications, VMware, Citrix infrastructure while demonstrating client values and behaviors.

Work Experience :

- 5 to 8 years of experience in managing Linux systems, security patching, vulnerability mitigation for Linux/CentOs, VMware, Citrix etc.

- 5 to 8 years of experience in infrastructure support for supporting Linux and related environment, project deliveries, BAU support etc.

Key Responsibilities :

- Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems mainly CentOS, Infrastructure as code, and applications.

- Monthly patching of Linux & Windows OS, Citrix, and VMware infrastructure.

- Manages Linux storage request/incident queue, business as usual and troubleshoot user issues.

- Fix security issues and vulnerabilities identified during assessments

- Deliver regular reporting to security leadership on remediation efforts.

- Develop a continuous monitoring approach to regularly measure and report the status of the following control areas: patching, hardening, audit and log config, authentication mechanism.

- Validate the remediation of identified issues using tools, such as Spacewalk (Oracle Linux Manager, configuration changes, manual techniques etc.

- Knowledge of information security hardening guidelines such as CIS

- Assist in providing assistance, and root-cause analysis on vulnerabilities

- Work through prioritized vulnerabilities for patch remediation with respective asset owners

- Learn and adapt to security objectives, and security capabilities.

- Advisory in prioritization of patch deployment

- Classify and prioritize the risk of all vulnerabilities taking into consideration mitigating factors and impacts of internal and external threats.

Knowledge/Qualifications :

Essential :

- Bachelor's degree in a computer science or equivalent.

- Strong knowledge and experience of Linux OS, Infrastructure as code: Terraform.

- Strong knowledge on Linux and OS security patching, Vulnerability management, scanning tool e.g Qualys.

- Experience in implementation and management of tools like SIEM, puppet, sssd implementation, supporting BAU support, incident, change and problem management.

- Experience in patching including but not limited to Linux mainly CentOS, vMware, hardware firmwares, environments.

- Applying Best Practices for Linux/CentOS patching process and automation using Spacewalk or any other similar tool.

- Experience working on vulnerability scanning tools like Qualys, Nessus etc

- Experience working on security tools implementations e.g splunk, Microsoft defender etc.

Desirable

- Red Hat Linux certification.

- Terraform

- Automation, Scripting [Bash].

- v3 ITIL Foundation Certification.

Application experience :

- CentOs 7.x or above, Active Directory, Linus update manager or any similar security patching tool etc

- Qualys or any other vulnerability scanning tool

- Terraform, Puppet, Git, at least one scripting language.

- VSphere 7 or above

- MS defender or equivalent

- ServiceNow
