1. Conduct field surveys to monitor gharial and other aquatic faunal populations, including population counts, nesting site surveys, and habitat assessments.
2. Analyse data collected from field surveys and research studies, using statistical methods and GIS software to assess population trends, habitat use, and threats to gharial populations.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of conservation plans and management strategies to mitigate direct and indirect threats to Gandak gharial populations.
4. Assist in collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and conservation organizations to raise awareness about gharial conservation issues and promote community-based conservation initiatives.
5. Provide training and technical support to forest department, volunteers, and community members involved in gharial conservation activities.
6. Stay updated on current research, best practices, and emerging threats related to gharial conservation, contributing to the scientific knowledge base and informing conservation strategies.
7. Support the team in conducting community consultations for conservation of gharial and river ecosystem; and any other activity for project development.
