Job Description
We are seeking a Front-End Software Engineer in our Engineering department, reporting to our VP of Engineering. This role is responsible for working closely with our engineering, design and product teams to implement user-facing functionality for various product initiatives. You ll be part of a team that s focused on delivering product features and updates that deliver value directly to Wealthbox end-users.
A typical day might include implementing a new reusable component, implementing a new feature of the web/mobile app, and fixing a bug in a React-powered feature. The Front-End Software Engineer will work directly with Wealthbox s internal teams and will be instrumental in the success of Wealthbox products and related initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement front-end code and user-facing functionality using React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, CSS and related technologies.
- Collaborate with the product, design and engineering teams to deliver a best-in-class software product.
- Pair program with other engineers and participate in project planning and code reviews.
- Contribute to our internal design system and component library and help keep our internal documentation up to date.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends to keep Wealthbox s user interfaces current and innovative.
- 2-4 years of professional front-end engineering experience
- Experience developing user interfaces using React and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Four-year degree in engineering, design, art or a related field
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or back-end development is a plus
- Experience with component library development/maintenance is a plus
- UI/UX design experience is a plus
- Focus on writing clear, maintainable, tested code
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent written communication skills and a strong ability to contribute to the team
