Who we are
The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server Database Developer with a minimum of five years of hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server SSIS and SSRS. As a Database Developer, he/she will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and database architecture for our organization
How you ll spend your day
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical specifications for ETL processes and reports.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract data from various sources, transform it into the desired format, and load it into target databases.
- Design, create, and manage Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity by fine-tuning queries, creating indexes, and monitoring database health.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Continuously enhance and maintain existing ETL workflows, reports, and data models to meet evolving business requirements.
- Contribute to the development of data governance and data quality initiatives to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and provide production support of existing processes.
- Provide regular project updates to business analysts and management.
- Develop and maintain system documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to ETL, data warehousing, and reporting.
Your experience and qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or 7+ years relevant development experience.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience as a SQL Server Database Developer, specializing in ETL processes and database architecture using Microsoft SQL Server SSIS and SSRS.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and database design principles.
- Proven ability to work with large datasets and handle data integration challenges effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Willing to work US hours on as needed basis for critical meetings
- Minimal travel (less than 10%)
Skills and Capabilities
- Demonstrated experience of project estimation and planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills, ability to be flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment.
- Commercial pharmaceuticals industry experience and knowledge a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and applications.
- SQL Development skills (Required).
- Vertica database skills (Preferred).
- Informatica Power Center and MDM (Preferred).
- Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server experience (Optional).
- RPA Automation (Optional).
- Familiarity or experience with Salesforce or Veeva CRM (Optional).
- Use of Pragmatic Works Task Factory (Optional).
- Fluent English reading, writing, speaking
