Self Defense Trainer

Purpose:

Specific:

The candidate will oversee and take ownership for the service delivery within their specific Area of Operation. This will include as a minimum, the following key actions:

• Creating safety & security awareness amongst guard force and larger staff as may be required.
• Teaching and execution of self-defence techniques to our guarding staff and employees.
• Plan programs as per the skill levels of the team and deliver regular sessions in group format.
• Evaluate the results from various training sessions and customize the same as per the feedback received.
• All staff receive the appropriate levels of training and guidance needed to complete their individual roles effectively and demonstrate competence.

The candidate will be embedded and will be deployed either Bangalore or Hyderabad for clarity and will report directly to the Regional Training Manager (RTM) - APAC for all matters relating to training delivery and work assignments.

The candidate will be required to maintain an ongoing ability to travel nationally. In some instances, this may require periods of extended stay to support specific projects or business activities.

Responsibilities:

Performance, Support & Management:

• Support the RTM in service delivery at an area (regional) level, to ensure a consistent and high-quality service delivery in matters pertaining to safety & security awareness and self-defense.
• Maintain highly accurate documentation/record-keeping in support of training and related results.
• Facilitate opportunities to develop and share best practices regarding safety & security amongst key stakeholders.

Preparation and Planning:

• Design safe teaching strategies appropriate to the learners abilities and needs.
• Conducting risk analysis to enable assessment of the potential impact of planned techniques on participant safety.
• Design programs to create awareness on legislations on use of force as per local laws.
• Conduct sessions on situational awareness & de-escalation and practice evasion tactics.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and team leaders for effective and timely scheduling of sessions.
• Prepare a detailed plan for manpower support and training area requirements to execute the sessions.

Training Execution:

• Organizing and conducting workshops and seminars on self-defense and personal safety to employees of varying age groups, backgrounds, and physical capabilities.
• Maintaining training records for effective reporting and timely audits.

Post training evaluation and reporting:

• Collect feedback from appropriate sources on the effectiveness of the program and publish regular reports.

Personal Competencies:

Preferred:

• A teaching certification or related degree will be favourable.
• Familiarity martial art forms especially Krav Maga will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and motivation skills.
• Ability to adapt and tailor teaching methods for diverse audiences.
• Ability to support, train and test the participants.
• Excellent English and Hindi communication skills and working knowledge of local language skills desirable.
• Right attitude and aptitude for handling fast changing and ambiguous situations is essential.
• Proficiency in creating/writing high-quality operational documents (procedures, records, reports, etc).

Mandatory:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Self-Défense Instructor or similar role.
• Fluency in English (written & verbal)
• Strong local market/industry (security) knowledge and relationships.
• Experienced in delivering high quality training outcomes.
• Ability to travel (regionally) and work flexible hours, as required (~50% of time).
