Mobile Automation Engineer - Kotlin/Java (5-10 yrs)

Job Purpose :

The Mobile Tester will be responsible for ensuring the security, functionality, and performance of mobile applications through comprehensive testing processes.

This role involves identifying security vulnerabilities, creating test cases, executing automated tests, reporting bugs, and contributing to the improvement of mobile application quality.

The Mobile Tester will also collaborate with development teams to ensure best practices are followed and that mobile security standards are met throughout the application lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze security gaps in mobile technologies and frameworks that lack standardized validation methodologies.

- Develop and implement remediation practices to reduce the security risk posture of company mobile applications, assets, and products.

- Continuously monitor and assess security risks to ensure that mobile applications comply with internal and industry security standards.

- Collaborate with development and security teams to establish and enforce mobile security best practices.

- Define, implement, and scale consistent mobile security practices across all company technology projects.

- Work across the entire mobile development lifecycle-planning, development, testing, and delivery-to integrate security practices into the workflow.

- Provide guidance to development teams on how to mitigate security risks while ensuring that IT investments generate business value and are aligned with overall business goals.

- Conduct security reviews and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.

- Expertise in automating mobile application tests using Perfecto, Appium, Java, and Selenium.

- Design and execute automated test scripts to validate the functionality and performance of mobile applications on various devices and operating systems.

- Work with teams to maintain and update automated test cases, ensuring the most current test scenarios are covered for regression testing and new feature releases.

- Maintain and execute test cases for patch and periodic regression testing, ensuring that fixes and updates do not break existing functionality.

- Conduct regular regression testing cycles to ensure stability and performance across all mobile platforms and devices.

- Identify and resolve issues early in the testing cycle to minimize production delays.

- Retrieve and analyze crash report logs from mobile devices to identify potential issues and bugs.

- Document and file detailed bug reports, including clear reproduction steps, severity, and context for development teams.

- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, isolate, and fix reported issues, ensuring comprehensive resolution before releases.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Strong experience with Java for automating mobile application testing and Selenium for UI testing.

- Proficient in using Appium for automating mobile applications on both Android and iOS platforms.

- Hands-on experience in testing mobile applications on both Android and iOS devices using manual and automated testing techniques.

- Experience with Expresso (Android) and XCUITest (iOS) for unit and UI testing of mobile applications.

- Knowledge of Kotlin programming language, particularly for mobile app testing with tools like Perfecto or SauceLabs.

- Familiarity with mobile testing platforms such as Perfecto, SauceLabs, BrowserStack, etc.

- Ability to retrieve and analyze crash logs and application logs to diagnose issues effectively.

- Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g, Jenkins, GitLab) to integrate automated tests into the build pipeline.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's/master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- 5+ years of experience in mobile application testing, security testing, and test automation.

- Experience in performing mobile security testing and working with mobile security frameworks is a plus
