Software Engineer

Job Function

Join an outstanding team of Software Engineers working on Qualcomm Location Services Management, and Operations.

Primary responsibilities

• Continuous Server Software deployment on both hosted and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
• Infra creation, automated deployments using IAC
• Access and resource control management
• Co-ordinates with other internal/external teams (QA, Dev, Systems, IT, AWS, Vendors, etc.) on service deployment/quality
• Willing to work in shifts if required

Secondary Responsibilities

• Ensure 24x7 service availability and service quality
• Triage issues in co-ordination with other teams
• Improve service availability by adding alerts, monitors and response plans
• Perform ad-hoc reporting
• Liaise with vendors and customers on service quality
• Provide periodic updates on Service cost and quality
• Work closely with Engineering and Management teams

Skills

• Strong knowledge of AWS Services Infrastructure (VPC, IAM, EC2, CloudFront, S3, ElastiCache, LB, Lambda, RDS, SQS, etc.)
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python/Shell)
• Experience in containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker
• Proficient with IAC such as Terraform, Pulumi
• Experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Tableau, AWS CloudWatch, Zabbix
• Used continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven
• Experience with using MySQL DB, Athena, RDS, Aurora as data sources and writing moderately complex MySQL and Hive Queries
• Experience with IT operations (Hosted and AWS Cloud based)

Experience Level - 2-4 years DevOps, AWS, Scripting

Educational Qualifications Required: Bachelor's, Degree in Engineering.
