Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to lead the strategic planning and execution of
product-related activities for allocated crops (chilly, tomato, okra, corn, millet) across designated
geographical regions. This role requires strong coordination with sales, research, and
development teams to drive product positioning, market penetration, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budgeting and Promotion:
Allocate and manage budgets for product promotion and marketing
communication materials tailored to each crop s market needs.
2. Geographical Product Range Management:
Oversee product range within assigned locations, collaborating with sales and development teams to ensure strategic market positioning and effective product launches.
3. RD and New Product Development:
Coordinate with RD, supply chain, logistics, and sales departments on new
product research, development, and distribution strategies, ensuring alignment
across internal and external channels.
4. Sales and Market Support:
Provide technical expertise and training support to sales teams, particularly
during product launches, to enable effective sales strategies.
5. Sales Data Analysis and Reporting:
Gather, analyze, and interpret sales data from multiple sources, creating
standard reports like sales forecasts, market analyses, and sales tracking.
6. Product Management and Brand Positioning:
Develop and execute strategic plans for brand positioning, ensuring products
align with market demands and reinforce brand equity.
7. Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of buyer behavior, competitive landscape, and marketing strategies to stay ahead of industry trends.
8. Sales Volume and Profitability:
Define and implement strategies to achieve targeted sales volumes and
profitability through brand positioning and effective marketing tactics.
9. Customer Needs and Product Opportunity Evaluation:
Research and evaluate new product opportunities, customer needs, and market demand to drive product innovation and competitive edge.
10. Sales Training and Content Development:
Conduct training needs analysis, develop content, and execute training programs to equip the sales force with product expertise.
11. Market Development Activities:
Plan and oversee activities focused on market expansion and penetration to
support product growth.
Qualifications:
MBA in Agribusiness Management or a related field.
Overall 6-8 years of experience with min 1 yr exp in product management, preferably in
the agriculture sector.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with various departments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with sales forecast modeling and market analysis.
Familiarity with agricultural product cycles and market dynamics.
