Research Associate

Role & responsibilities

The Research associate is expected to demonstrate expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of Organic chemistry, Principle responsibility is the synthesis, purification, and identification of chemical intermediates and target compounds with team mates, A major component in the scientist's performance rating will be based on productivity.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Synthesize known compounds efficiently using literature or in-house notebook procedures.

2. Under supervisory direction, synthesize new compounds by making appropriate modification of known methods in order to improve yields the scientist should be able to handle a wide range of reaction types.

• Must required key skills-
• Literature search, Cro working experience, plant batches execution, must have Team leading capabilities handle multiple team, executing 2-3 reactions on everyday basis, Spectral data reviewing skills.
• Conducting day- to-day Experiments.
• Raw materials /solvents procurement with batch numbers from ware house.
• Raw materials/ solvents batch numbers must be entered in LNB.
• Familiar on properties of solvents, raw materials and catalysts like boiling point, melting point, density, freezing point etc
• Familiar on MSDS.
• Monitoring of the experiments with observations.
• Calculation of moles & mole ratios.
• Calculation of molar yield.
• Wearing of safety goggles, gloves and shoes.
• Periodically checking the Lab instruments for their maintenance.
• The difficulties / problems arise during the experiment will be report to group leader.
• Interaction with AR&D and stores departments for getting analysis results and raw materials in time.
• Maintenance of glassware and Equipment.
• Maintenance of lab clean and tidy
• Cleaning and segregation of glassware.
• Storage of Raw materials, intermediates and finished products based on compatibility.
• All chemists are reporting to their group leaders

Preferred candidate profile

M.sc in Organic chemistry, B.sc( chemistry) with 4 to 8 years of experience in chemistry
