Job Description:
- The Affiliate Relations Specialist builds and maintains strategic relationships with TV stations and media teams across the country and their ownership groups by tracking and managing airtime distribution, invoicing, and payment. As the Affiliate Relations Specialist I, you will also be responsible for cold calling stations to determine open capacity to purchase for our network as well as analytical functions to maintain media efficiency.
We are looking for someone who can execute effective affiliate partnership strategies and tactics to build and maintain affiliate network partnerships to significantly increase our presence in US television households and make our programming available to home shopping enthusiasts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize effective phone/email outreach and negotiation skills to create new affiliates and optimize existing partnerships.
- Engage existing affiliates to increase Shop LC's household presence and generate incremental business volume.
- Maintain and improve existing relationships with partners.
- Execute and monitor new market launches through new or existing affiliate partnerships.
- Remain current on affiliate trends, industry trends, and technological changes in the industry that impact our immediate or long-term future and our ability to reach households and customers across the US.
- Utilize various internal datasets to analyze the current state of business.
- Maintain full and complete contract documentation and archiving within the team's departmental database.
- Update various daily/weekly reports and communicate with internal teams including finance, marketing, customer service, engineering, and the Management Committee on various aspects of
Affiliates' ongoing business.
- Provide information to assist in press releases, channel finder, and other social media updates on company developments including new launches or channel change information, under the direction of the Affiliate Network Manager and Executive Team.
- Assist in non-traditional and new media and marketing implementation.
- Help the Affiliates Relations Manager in implementing the tag and delivery of regular cross-channel spots, social media, or other marketing support to third parties and distributors.
- Upload spots and provide traffic and ISCII/promo codes.
- Develop ad hoc reporting for market analysis.
- Communicate approvals, terminations, and any deal changes to appropriate departments with a focus on the relationship with the finance team.
- Oversee Quarterly FCC compliance letter generation.
- Provide updates and management of departmental WIS.
- Daily prospecting and cold calling of stations to determine open capacity for leasing airtime.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by the manager.
Skills/Experience:
- Masters degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field with three or more years of affiliate or sales experience.
- Basic accounting process knowledge of Receivables and Payables (invoice reconciliation).
- Familiarity with media buying, planning, and research.
- Must be highly analytical and extremely detail-oriented with a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong professional communication skills and ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to work individually using sound judgment.
- Highly organized with efficiency in meeting deadlines and following up as needed with others.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively utilize various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in MS Office, advanced experience in MS Excel, report generation, and familiarity with MS Power BI (a plus).
