What youll need to bring:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Backend Development: Hands-on experience in NodeJS/Python/C++/Go, demonstrating the ability to design, develop, and maintain complex backend systems and APIs.
Database Management: Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, query optimisation, and data modelling, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases like Redis for caching and data storage.
Cloud Computing Platforms: Proficiency in deploying, managing, and optimising cloud infrastructure on platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
Web Servers and Proxies: Knowledge of configuring and optimising web servers like NGINX for load balancing, reverse proxying, and caching, to enhance the performance and security of web applications and APIs.
Asynchronous Programming and Messaging: Experience with asynchronous programming techniques and message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, for handling background tasks, event-driven processing, and inter-service communication.
Security Best Practices: Understanding of security principles and best practices, including encryption, access controls, authentication, and authorisation, to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Version Control Systems: Proficiency in using version control systems like Git for code management, collaboration, and deployment, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts effectively.
DevOps and Automation Tools: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for automating deployment, testing, and monitoring processes, such as CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues efficiently, utilising debugging tools, log analysis, and performance monitoring solutions.
