Varahe Analytics - Data Scientist - Machine Learning (3-4 yrs)

Job Description :

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, creating predictive models, and applying machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights that influence business strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business leaders, to solve complex problems and optimize processes across various business domains.

Key Responsibilities :

- Work with large, structured and unstructured datasets to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and identify trends, patterns, and insights.

- Build and deploy machine learning models to address business challenges such as predictive analytics, customer segmentation, and demand forecasting.

- Design and implement complex statistical models and algorithms to solve specific business problems.

- Clean, preprocess, and transform data to ensure accuracy and consistency across datasets.

- Handle missing values, outliers, and other issues in the data to ensure high-quality, reliable input for modeling.

- Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models using tools such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks.

- Work with algorithms like decision trees, random forests, support vector machines (SVM), deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP), depending on the specific project needs.

- Apply statistical methods to analyze datasets, understand distributions, and identify correlations and causations.

- Create intuitive data visualizations and reports to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate data solutions into existing systems.

- Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively to business leaders and other stakeholders in a manner that influences decision-making.

- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business strategy.

- Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to validate model performance and drive further improvements.

- Document all methodologies, code, and findings to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and compliance with internal processes.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL. Experience with Java or Scala is a plus.

- Hands-on experience with libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, XGBoost, and LightGBM.

- Proficient in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.

- Proficiency in Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or similar tools for data visualization.

- Familiarity with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
