Data Scientist (Forecasting)

Valiance is a global AI & Data analytics firm helping clients build cutting-edge technology solutions for digital transformation. We work with some of the marquee brands across India, US and APAC to build transformative solutions for Credit Risk, Fraud, Predictive Maintenance, Quality Inspection, Data lake, IOT analytics etc.

Our team comprises 120+ professionals across Machine Learning, Data Engineering & Cloud expertise

- We are looking for a Data Scientist with a robust background in forecasting, especially in the context of Fashion Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).

- The candidate should be skilled in Python and PySpark, and bring at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably from a Tier 1 college.

- This role demands a blend of technical prowess, analytical acumen, and a passion for data-driven problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Analysis and Forecasting: Utilize your forecasting experience, to analyze complex data sets and predict future trends.

- Programming Skills: Employ your proficiency in Python and PySpark for developing and executing algorithms for data processing and analysis.

- Model Development and Evaluation: Construct predictive models using machine learning algorithms, continuously evaluating and refining them.

- Data Visualization and Reporting: Develop insightful visualizations and reports to convey findings to stakeholders effectively.

- Collaboration and Communication: Engage with various teams to understand business needs and deliver data-centri solutions.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree from a Tier 1 college in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics etc.).

- Experience: At least 1-2 years in a data science role, with experience in demand forecasting for Fashion Retail or CPG being a significant plus.

- Technical Skills: Strong command over Python and PySpark, along with familiarity with SQL, machine learning libraries, and data visualization tools.

- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.

- Deep understanding of advanced statistical techniques and concepts

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
