Key responsibilities of a Design QC include:

Reviewing design documents:

Thoroughly examining design drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy, compliance with standards, and potential errors or inconsistencies.

Identifying design flaws:

Proactively detecting potential issues like missing information, incorrect tolerances, manufacturability concerns, and safety hazards within the design.

Conducting design audits:

Performing regular checks on design processes to ensure adherence to quality procedures and guidelines.

Communicating quality concerns:

Raising concerns about design issues to the relevant design engineers, project managers, and stakeholders in a timely manner.

Collaborating on corrective actions:

Working with design teams to identify root causes of design issues and develop effective solutions to address them.

Maintaining design documentation:

Ensuring all design documents are properly documented, updated, and archived according to company procedures.

Applying quality standards:

Understanding and enforcing relevant industry quality standards and regulations throughout the design process.

Performing design verification and validation:

Participating in activities to verify that designs meet functional requirements and validate their performance against specifications at site.

Monitoring design changes:

Tracking design modifications and ensuring appropriate quality checks are conducted on revised designs.

Skills and qualifications:

• Strong technical knowledge in the relevant design discipline (modular, carpentry, electrical, plumbing etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with design team & execution team.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues proactively.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (Auto CAD) and documentation tools (MS Office).
