Key Responsibilities :

- Configure, deploy, and maintain GitLab Runners across various environments (cloud, on-premises, and hybrid setups).

- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of GitLab Runners.

- Manage executor types (Docker, Shell, Kubernetes, etc.) based on project requirements.

- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software build, test, and deployment processes.

- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and implement fixes to ensure robust and efficient workflows.

- Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate and automate test cases within the CI/CD pipeline.

- Develop and maintain scripts for build automation, deployment, and configuration management.

- Enhance the automation of repetitive tasks to improve overall development productivity.

- Monitor the performance of GitLab Runners and address bottlenecks or system failures.

- Analyze logs and system metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.

- Implement and enforce security best practices for CI/CD pipelines, including secure credential management.

- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

- Act as a liaison between DevOps, development, and QA teams to align CI/CD strategies with organizational goals.

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for GitLab Runner configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Experience: 6-14 years of hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD and GitLab Runner configurations.

- Proficient in setting up and managing GitLab Runners in various environments.

- Deep understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualization technologies.

- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.

- Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar for monitoring pipeline performance.

- In-depth knowledge of Git and GitLab repository management.

Understanding of secure DevOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and artifact management.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for hosting GitLab Runners.

- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

- GitLab CI/CD certification is a plus.
