About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Controller & Planner to join our team and play a critical role in the successful development and implementation of a greenfield carbon project. This role will be responsible for overseeing all project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and controlling activities to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning & Scheduling:
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
* Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Track project progress against the established schedule and proactively address any potential delays.
* Prepare and present regular project status reports to key stakeholders.
* Budgeting & Cost Control:
* Develop and manage the project budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on actual costs.
* Monitor and control project expenses to ensure they align with the approved budget.
* Identify and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
* Prepare and analyze cost variance reports.
* Contract Management:
* Assist in the negotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Manage contract variations and claims.
* Quality Control:
* Establish and implement quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
* Conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
* Identify and address any quality issues that arise.
* Ensure compliance with relevant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
* Stakeholder Management:
* Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, including internal and external teams, investors, and regulators.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* Proactively address any stakeholder concerns or issues.
* Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, reports, and meeting minutes.
* Prepare and submit all required reports to internal and external stakeholders.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Continuously evaluate project processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Implement best practices in project management and control.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering Civil/Mechanical
* 15+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and control, preferably within the renewable energy or sustainability sector.
* Proven experience in developing and managing project budgets.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
* Strong understanding of ESG principles and sustainability best practices.
Desired Skills:
* Experience with carbon project development and implementation.
* Knowledge of relevant carbon accounting standards and methodologies.
* Experience with GIS software and data analysis.
* Experience with environmental and social impact assessments.
