Job Description
- Classrooms : Sweeping, mopping floors, dusting furniture, and ensuring desks and chairs are organized.
- Hallway and Common Areas : Cleaning and sanitizing floors, walls, and windows. Ensuring hallways and staircases are free of debris.
- Restrooms : Cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Restocking supplies like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Offices and Staff / Conference Rooms : Ensuring workspaces are clean and tidy, including dusting, emptying trash bins, and vacuuming carpets.
Trash Removal
- Collecting and disposing of trash throughout the school in classrooms, washrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas.
- Ensuring waste is properly sorted, especially in schools with recycling programs.
Maintaining Cleanliness in School Grounds
- Sweeping and tidying up schoolyards, playgrounds, and parking lots.
- Picking up litter from outdoor areas.
Sanitizing High-Traffic Areas
- Regularly sanitizing high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, light switches, and elevator buttons.
- Ensuring that frequently used areas like cafeterias and computer labs are regularly disinfected.
Cleaning Special Facilities
- Pantry Area : Wiping down tables, chairs, and food service areas, and cleaning floors after meal times.
- Activity Rooms : Ensuring seating areas, stages, and backstage areas are cleaned before and after events.
Reporting Maintenance Issues
- Notifying school management of any needed repairs, such as broken furniture, malfunctioning equipment, or plumbing issues.
Health and Safety
- Following proper cleaning protocols to maintain health and safety standards, particularly in areas like kitchens, restrooms, and science labs.
- Ensuring the school is compliant with health regulations and any other cleanliness-related policies.
Setting up for Events
- Assisting with the setup and cleanup for special events, assemblies, and meetings, including setting up chairs, tables, and decorations as needed.
Providing Support to Other Staff
- Assisting teachers or school administrators with tasks like setting up classrooms or organizing materials.
Landscaping
- Planting flowers, trees, and shrubs according to landscaping plans.
- Pruning trees and shrubs to maintain their health and appearance.
- Mulching flower beds to retain moisture and control weeds.
- Seeding, fertilizing, and aerating lawns to promote healthy growth.
- Applying pesticides and herbicides as needed to control weeds and pests

Educational Qualifications
- Up to 8 th
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)
- 1 and 2 years of relevant housekeeping experience.
Required Skills & Competences:
- Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper cum gardener.
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- School-oriented and friendly.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- Working quickly without compromising quality.
