Junior Technical Artist

Role & responsibilities

• Create and implement technical solutions for art assets in Unreal Engine.
• Rig and skin 3D models for animation within Unreal Engine.
• Apply and optimize textures and materials using the Unreal Engine Material Editor.
• Optimize art assets to ensure they meet performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art assets.
• Collaborate with the art team to enhance and streamline the art production pipeline in Unreal Engine.
• Develop and edit Blueprints to automate processes and build custom functionality.
• Work closely with the art and development teams to gather requirements, deliver assets on schedule, and meet project budgets.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in Game Development, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in technical art or game development.
• Skills and Expertise:
• Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine with hands-on experience in Blueprints.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging software such as Maya, Blender, or Substance Painter.
• Familiarity with the Unreal Engine Material Editor and lighting systems.
• Experience with animation and visual effects (VFX) systems in Unreal Engine.
• Basic programming skills in C++ or Python are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
