About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated QA Lead to lead our Quality Assurance efforts in a dynamic eCommerce environment.

With your expertise in both manual and automation testing, you will be responsible for managing a team of QA engineers, ensuring the highest standards of quality across our products, and overseeing testing strategies for web and mobile applications.

This is a key leadership position, and you will play an integral role in shaping the testing processes for our eCommerce platform.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers (manual and automation).

- Define and implement testing strategies, processes, and best practices to ensure high-quality releases.

- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and offer career development guidance to team members.

- Ensure efficient resource allocation for different testing phases (manual and automated) in alignment with project deadlines.

- Develop comprehensive test strategies and test plans for eCommerce platforms, ensuring proper coverage for functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.

- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to define testing requirements and expectations.

- Lead the creation and execution of test cases for web, mobile, and API testing.

- Oversee the execution of manual testing for functional and exploratory tests, including testing of critical eCommerce features like cart flows, payment gateways, and order management systems.

- Lead the automation testing efforts, including building and maintaining test scripts for UI and backend testing using tools like Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, Jenkins, etc.

- Ensure test scripts are reusable, maintainable, and integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.

- Review and optimize test coverage and efficiency in the automation suite.

- Ensure that the product meets high-quality standards before release, including identifying, documenting, and tracking defects.

- Work closely with the development team to prioritize and resolve issues during the development lifecycle.

- Oversee the preparation of test reports, defect reports, and release notes for stakeholders.

- Manage and track quality metrics, such as defect density, test case execution rate, and automation coverage.

- Work closely with product managers, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure all functionalities are thoroughly tested.

- Act as a liaison between the QA team and other departments, facilitating smooth communication and issue resolution.

- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the testing processes and suggest improvements to enhance test coverage, quality, and productivity.

- Introduce new testing methodologies and tools to improve testing efficiency and quality.

- Promote test automation as part of the overall testing strategy to reduce manual effort and ensure quicker release cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum of 5 years in QA roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

- Strong experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications, with a deep understanding of testing eCommerce features (payment integrations, shopping cart, product catalogs).

- Extensive experience in leading automation efforts, including Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Jenkins, or other test automation frameworks.

- Hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.

- eCommerce Domain Knowledge : Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms and workflows (e.g, Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or custom-built platforms).

- Proficiency in REST API testing with tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.

- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Experience using test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or ALM for tracking test cases, defects, and progress.

- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment practices, with hands-on experience in Jenkins or similar tools.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation.

- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools is a plus.
