Job Title : Network ArchitectOverview.
The Network Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of complex network environments.
This role requires deep technical expertise in Cisco switching and routing, Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure), Cisco SDA (Software-Defined Access), Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) and NAC (Network Access Control), Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, and Aruba wireless technologies.
The Network Architect will work closely with various teams to ensure network solutions align with business needs and support operational efficiency, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities :
Network Design & Architecture :
- Design secure, high-performing, resilient, and scalable network architectures.
- Develop detailed network diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation for solutions involving Cisco ACI, SDA, ISE/NAC, and various firewall technologies.
- Establish connectivity frameworks to integrate multi-vendor solutions, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Aruba wireless.
Implementation and Configuration :
- Lead the implementation and configuration of Cisco switching, routing, ACI, SDA, ISE, NAC, and firewall solutions.
- Configure and integrate multi-vendor firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet) and Aruba wireless systems.
- Perform network installations, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime.
- Ensure solutions are tested and documented before deployment in live environments.
- BAU (Business as Usual) Support.
- Oversee BAU support to maintain network performance and reliability.
- Monitor and analyze network performance metrics and proactively address potential issues.
- Implement and oversee change management practices for network infrastructure.
- Technical Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex network troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Analyze and resolve network issues, including latency, throughput, and connectivity.
- Coordinate with vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba) for hardware or software issues, patches, and updates.
- Ensure high availability of network services and troubleshoot potential outages or vulnerabilities.
Security Management :
- Design and enforce network security standards and policies.
- Implement access controls and network segmentation using Cisco ISE/NAC and SDA.
- Work with security teams to integrate firewall policies, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management protocols.
- Ensure the network complies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Documentation and Knowledge Transfer.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, policies, and configurations.
- Prepare technical guides, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and troubleshooting workflows.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for network team members to ensure cross-functional support capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation.
- Stay updated on emerging networking trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new network solutions or improvements to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead or participate in initiatives to optimize network management, automation, and monitoring.
Qualifications and Skills :
Technical Expertise :
- Strong knowledge of Cisco technologies: Switching and Routing, ACI, SDA, ISE/NAC.
- Proficient with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall configuration, management, and policy implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless solutions, including access points and wireless controllers.
Experience :
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
- Proven track record in BAU support and troubleshooting for complex multi-vendor network environments.
- Experience with network security, access control, and segmentation strategies.
Certifications :
- Relevant Cisco certifications (e., CCNP, CCIE).
- Additional certifications in Palo Alto Networks (PCNSE) and Fortinet (NSE 4-8).
- Aruba certification (e., ACMP) is a plus.
Soft Skills :
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, with strong documentation and project management abilities.
