Database Administrator - MySQL (10-16 yrs)

Job Description :

- Design, install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to support AMI applications and services.

- Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.

- Ensure optimal database performance by monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving performance bottlenecks.

- Analyze and refine complex SQL queries for high-volume data processing.

- Implement backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and failover systems to ensure high availability.

- Perform routine database maintenance, including patch management and version upgrades.

- Optimize data storage and query performance for real-time analytics and reporting.

- Maintain detailed documentation of all database systems, configurations, and procedures.

- Occasional out of hours support will be required

Mandatory skills :

- Experience deploying and operating enterprise database- MYSQL

- Expert Database administrator: MySQL clustering and administration preferably in a large-scale environment.

- Strong proficiency in MySQL performance tuning, query optimization, and replication.

- Basic understanding of Linux Administration

- Solid understanding of on-prem and cloud infrastructure

- Understanding of security best practices for database administration,

including encryption, access control, and data masking.

Documentation skills :

- Ability to create plans and SOPs

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred skills :

- Knowledgeable about common internet protocols, standards, architectures, and patterns

- Familiarity with AMI systems, smart meter data, and IoT applications in the utility industry is highly desirable.

- Hands on experience on version control using Git (or similar)

- Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar for infrastructure management.

- Proficiency JIRA and confluence tools
