Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced professional to manage and maintain our company's Fixed Asset Register. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of asset records, compliance with regulations, and improving asset management practices. The candidate will also play a key role in supporting strategic decisions related to asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fixed Asset Management:
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of the fixed asset register for all properties and equipment.
- Ensure timely recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and impairments.
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to monitor asset life cycles.
2. Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to fixed assets by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
3. Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective asset management.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare detailed asset reports, including depreciation, valuations, and financial impacts, for internal stakeholders and management.
- Provide insights on asset performance and utilization for strategic planning.
5. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the fixed asset team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant teams on asset management processes and best practices.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, operations, legal, and property management teams to ensure seamless asset integration and reporting.
- Partner with IT teams to manage asset management systems effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in asset management, accounting, or a similar role within the real estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, or other relevant accounting standards related to fixed assets.
- Experience in managing large-scale asset registers for multi-property portfolios.
- Proficiency in asset management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or a related qualification is a plus.
- Knowledge of real estate investment principles and practices.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to work with diverse stakeholders effectively.
