About the role
We are looking for an agile, motivated, and dedicated personality who is ready to join our APAC Property and Casualty Operations Team in Bangalore as Team Leader TA CL Operations. APAC Operations is part of the PC Reinsurance Operations Division, which handles the in-force reinsurance business from end to end.
This leadership position includes responsibility for leading a team of Reinsurance Operations Professionals (Technical Accounting and Claims Operations) for APAC region. Duties include the management of the daily workflow, delivery of high-quality work to set deadlines, people management and leadership and reporting ideas for improvement of processes where appropriate. Responsibilities also include monitoring and achievement of Key Performance Indicators as well as active and regular communication with internal and external clients and partners. You will work in a dynamic environment by being capable of navigating through periods of change and ambiguity.
The leadership opportunity
Own and understand the Teams business portfolio and be able to provide support to the team through portfolio knowledge technical skills gained from performing regular processing activities and connecting to leaders in other functions.
In line with Swiss Res principles of Continuous Performance Management:

Oversee workload management and drive Operational Excellence on KPIs for APAC Operations to achieve the targets and service requirements agreed.
Contribute to project deliverables and manage change management aspects with the team to ensure implementation as per the plan.
High focus on efficient resource capacity utilization within Team by coaching, monitoring, and assigning the work to team members and managing workload on daily basis. Set targets and monitor team progress. Ensure high quality and fulfillment of tasks within given deadlines.
Setting direction of the team to support the overall APAC Operations strategy. Challenge the status quo; embrace new points of view and aim for process simplification.
Assure quality and risk management activities; contribute to development of overall PC Reinsurance Operations Risk Management culture.
Assure professional communication and actively pursue relationships with stakeholders / internal clients and build-up a strong professional network with other locations.
Guide team members and coordinate with other functional areas to address process/client issues that cannot be resolved within the team
Seek continuous feedback from stakeholders on performance of the team and opportunities for greater value add to the business.
About the team:
You will join a very experienced and highly motivated team of Reinsurance Professionals (Technical Accountants, Claims Examiners and Operations Associates) handling Reinsurance portfolios for diverse APAC regions. Our responsibilities require regular interactions with peers and experts from other locations. We have a strong link to the other PC Re Reinsurance teams and collaborate on daily basis to deliver best service and most value to our clients. With our continuous improvement mindset our aim is to provide our external clients and internal partners with fast, easy, and effective ways of conducting business within an environment where the risks are understood.
About you:
Strategic and solution focused mind-set, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong focus on delivery of results and KPIs.
Excellent communication skills (clear, transparent, convincing, virtual as well as in person) and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to motivate diverse groups, drive change and establish a culture of continuous improvement. Act as role model for team members and peer Team Leaders.
Proven record of accomplishment of setting, achieving, and exceeding goals; evidence of the ability to make consistently good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment.
Minimum 6years (in which 2 years in people management role) of experience in reinsurance/primary insurance, preferably in client-facing Operations roles.
Prior experience in a project/ team lead role serves as an advantage.
Able to drive the team together, manage multiple competing priorities in fast paced and dynamic environment by meeting required deadlines.
Strong team player with ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, credibility, and integrity.
Ability to challenge the status quo manage multiple stakeholders (multi-cultural and cross functional teams in a virtual set-up).
Overall, known and displayed passion for people development and handling challenges.
