Role Description:
- The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing software and integration solutions to business users and customers.
- Regular duties performed would consist of process and system analysis, software design, documentation, interpreting business and architecture specs, routinely managing backlog sprints with development teams to deliver quality releases.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving issues, assisting in user acceptance testing or troubleshooting, validating software data integrity, integration documentation, and eliciting the needs of project stakeholders would also be expected.
- With an entrepreneurial spirit, the Senior Systems Analyst acts as a lead liaison between the project management team, architecture team, development team, quality assurance team, and project stakeholders to communicate the technical solution and/or implementation details to ensure the delivery of usable, useful, and desirable products and solutions to Stewart's end users and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translate product requirements into technical specifications that include but are not limited to, business requirements, technical requirements, operational requirements, business process flows, technical process flows, and/or use cases.
- Elicit and/or expand upon product requirements using interviews, document analysis, storyboards, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, and/or task and workflow analysis.
- Understand system and operational requirements, downstream system impacts, and legal compliance obligations that may be impacted by modifications to software applications.
- Receive and prioritize product requirements from the project management team and/or executive sponsors.
- Work with the architect(s) and/or development lead(s) to determine a technical solution and implementation plan based on product requirements.
- Work closely with the development and quality assurance teams to communicate the technical solution and/or implementation details to ensure that the product requirements are met.
- Assist the quality assurance team with the creation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Organize and lead user acceptance testing with the appropriate project stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support software deployments throughout the implementation project life cycle.
- Create and/or maintain documentation explaining product and/or application changes and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Create and/or maintain documentation for project decisions, action items, issues, and other pertinent information throughout the implementation project life cycle.
- Communicate the project status with the project stakeholders throughout the implementation project life cycle.
- Handle several implementation projects and/or tasks at any given time.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of software applications and interactions between software applications used by the organization.
- Investigate, resolve, and/or escalate production issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years to 8 yrs experience as a business analyst and/or systems analyst delivering software solutions following an agile scrum software development lifecycle methodology.
- Minimum of 2 years RDBMS/SQL exposure with the ability to write basic queries for data analysis.
- Familiarity with API integrations and using API tools like PostMan or Swagger.
- Experience with user flow mapping based on business and technical requirements.
- Working knowledge of XML and JSON data formats.
- Working knowledge of B2B integrations.
- Strong interpretation of business and user experience needs.
- Strong customer focus in providing technology services and support.
- Pro-active learner and action take for tasks and team or project organization.
- Excellent active listening and interviewing skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills as well as ability to multi-task and understand prioritization of deliverables.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Ability to respond effectively in an environment with rapidly changing and competing priorities.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills displaying attention to detail.
