Job Description

Position Overview:


- We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Legal and Compliance Professional having post qualification relevant experience of 7-10 years for the position of Senior Manager - Compliance and Litigation to oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance and litigation management within our organization based out of Bangalore.


- The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, and a proven track record in managing legal disputes, litigation and regulatory compliance matters specifically within the FMCG, food & beverages, grocery, and e-commerce industries.


- This role will primarily focus on ensuring compliance with FSSAI regulations in addition to other relevant regulatory bodies, and the candidates with robust litigation management skills coupled with prior legal experience within the food, grocery and e-commerce businesses will be preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:

- Undertake and monitor end to end compliance management for various business units, including without limitation compliances pertaining to Food Business Operations, FSSAI Licenses, Trade Licenses, Mandi Licenses, Shops and Establishment Licenses, Compliances related to Labour laws, PF, ESI etc.

- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements and identify gaps and areas for improvement. Develop internal controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance needs of the group companies are met.

- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and best practices.

- Track and ensure timely and accurate statutory filings and renewals of licenses and permissions, as required under law.

- Strong hands-on experience in liaisoning with various regulatory authorities, governmental agencies including police and other such investigating agencies for legally compliant business operations and to resolve issues, if any, arising from day-today business operations.

- Identify gaps in processes, create, enforce, and monitor SOPs.

- Prior experience in handling legal and compliance for fintech business or transportation sector will be an added advantage.

2. Litigation Management:

- Litigation and Dispute Resolution; Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution, including case assessment, strategy development, and represent the Company in legal proceedings.

- Handling various categories of pre-litigations, disputes, complaints, litigation under various laws and recovery matters.

- Handling regulatory issues and documentation, litigations arising therefrom.

- Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement for the Company.

- Appoint, collaborate, and coordinate with external legal counsel to manage litigation matters effectively and minimize legal risks.

- Develop and implement strategies for early case resolution and alternative dispute resolution methods.

- Liaise with police officials, authorities, and regulatory agencies as and when required.

3. Reporting and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of compliance activities, litigation cases, and related documentation. Prepare regular MIS, reports and presentations on compliance and litigation matters for senior management and stakeholders.

- Regularly update various stakeholders and management about all the relevant regulatory updates, amendments, rules, standards, and guidelines having implication on business operation or are otherwise relevant for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Law and any additional qualification such as certification in compliance shall be an added advantage.

- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in regulatory compliance and litigation management, preferably in the FMCG, Food & Grocery, E-commerce industry or related sectors with a proven record of handling complex cases.

- In-depth knowledge of FSSAI Licenses, Trade Licenses, Shops and Establishment Licenses, Compliances related to Labour law, PF, ESI etc. is essential.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent drafting skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive legal documents, complaints, memoranda, notices, notice reply etc.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, coupled with a high level of integrity and professional ethics.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
