Role & responsibilities

The WTP (Water Treatment Plant) / RO (Reverse Osmosis) Plant Shift Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining water treatment and RO systems. The role ensures efficient plant operation while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Operations & Monitoring:

• Operate and monitor WTP and RO systems, including pumps, membranes, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
• Perform routine inspections, record operational data, and ensure all equipment functions within set parameters.
• Adjust flow rates, chemical dosages, and pressure levels to optimize plant performance.
• Conduct water quality tests (pH, TDS, turbidity, chlorine levels, etc.) and take corrective actions as needed.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot operational issues promptly.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, membranes, and other system components.
• Identify faults in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and coordinate repairs.
• Assist in membrane cleaning, replacement, and regeneration activities.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities and report major breakdowns to the supervisor.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazardous chemical handling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards related to water treatment.
• Participate in safety drills and contribute to a safe working environment.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of plant performance, water quality tests, and chemical consumption.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate issues to the next shift and management.
• Assist in preparing reports for audits and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: ITI in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 4-5 years in water treatment, RO plants, or similar industrial operations.
• Technical Skills:

Knowledge of RO membrane operations, pumps, valves, and chemical dosing systems

Preferred candidate profile

Comfortable to work in rotational shifts
