Role Overview:
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth and new business opportunities in the IT/ITES space across different sectors.
This is a senior, client-facing role requiring a good understanding of different industries' unique needs and the IT solutions that can address them.
You will lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and secure new business deals, collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client requirements and drive long-term partnerships.
Location: Hyderabad.
Reports To: MD/CEO.
Key responsibilities:
Business Development Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth, focusing on IT/ITES solutions in areas such as digital transformation, cloud computing, data analytics, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify new business opportunities in different sectors and companies, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers.
- Perform market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities across sectors.
- Set and achieve revenue and business development targets aligned with the company's overall growth objectives.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and executives across organisations.
- Understand client needs and pain points, proposing innovative IT solutions that drive value across functions such as R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory affairs, and customer service.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement to post-sales implementation.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the delivery and technical teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and solution implementation.
Lead Generation & Sales Execution:
- Identify high-potential prospects and generate qualified leads across different sectors.
- Develop and present customized proposals and presentations to highlight the company's capabilities in addressing the client's IT needs.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing models with a focus on long-term strategic partnerships and solutions delivery.
- Manage the entire sales pipeline from prospecting to closing, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of solutions.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the internal solution architects, delivery managers, and technology experts to ensure solutions are tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create targeted outreach materials and campaigns.
- Provide feedback and insights from the market and clients to guide service/product development.
Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership:
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, challenges, and regulatory changes across industries and businesses.
- Stay abreast of recent technologies in the IT space (e. , AI, cloud, data analytics) and how they can be applied in the various sectors.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and other thought leadership events to build brand awareness and generate new business leads.
Revenue & Performance Metrics:
- Take responsibility for meeting or exceeding sales targets, ensuring a high conversion rate from lead generation to signed contracts.
- Monitor and report on the performance of business development activities, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize success.
- Track KPIs, forecast revenue, and maintain CRM records to ensure accurate reporting and analytics.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 8 to 10 years' experience in business development within the IT/ITES industry, with a proven track record of success.
- Deep understanding of IT outsourcing models, shared services, and digital transformation initiatives in pharma.
- Proven experience in collaborating with medium and large Indian and multi-national companies for large-scale IT projects or services.
- Experience in dealing with C-level executives and senior management within large organizations.
Skills:
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and create tailored solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high value deals simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of different industry needs, and how IT solutions address these needs.
- Experience with CRM tools and project management software.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- An MBA in Marketing is preferred.
Other:
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
