Key Qualifications :

Education :

B.E., B.Tech., MCA, or higher degree in a relevant field.

VMware Certifications :

- VMware Certified Professional - Datacenter Virtualization (VCP-DCV)

- VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization (VCP-NV)

Experience :

- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting, managing, and optimizing VMware infrastructure.

- Hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of cloud solutions, -particularly with Morpheus Cloud Infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities :

1. Virtualization Infrastructure Management :

VMware Environment Management :

- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and vCenter Servers.

- Proactively ensure high availability and reliability of virtualized resources.

- Perform patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure components.

- Collaborate with the virtualization team to optimize resource utilization and improve system performance.

vRealize Suite Expertise :

- Leverage VMware vRealize Suite tools such as vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Operations (vROPS), and vRealize Log Insight (vRLI) for automation, performance monitoring, and logging.

- Optimize and scale the VMware environment using vRealize Suite.

NSX-T and AVI ALB Expertise :

- Administer and troubleshoot VMware NSX-T for network virtualization, including the configuration and management of virtual networks, distributed switches, and security.

- Implement and manage AVI Application Load Balancer (ALB) for enhanced scalability, performance, and application delivery.

Morpheus Cloud Infrastructure :

- Implement and configure Morpheus Cloud platform to automate cloud infrastructure management.

- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to integrate Morpheus with existing VMware and cloud solutions.

2. Data Center Operations and Support :

Data Center Management :

- Manage and support HPE Servers and SAN infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of storage solutions including FC and iSCSI SAN.

- Implement best practices for storage provisioning, data integrity, and disaster recovery.

- Handle troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting for all data center components.

Systems Monitoring and Alerts :

- Regularly monitor and analyze the health of virtual and physical infrastructure components.

- Utilize tools like vROPS and third-party monitoring solutions to keep systems at optimal performance levels.

Systems Patching and Upgrades :

- Oversee the patch management lifecycle for virtualized environments, ensuring that ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and related components are up-to-date.

- Conduct regular software upgrades and ensure minimal impact on business operations.

3. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution :

Troubleshoot VMware Infrastructure Issues :

- Proactively identify and resolve complex issues related to VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines, ESXi hosts, networking components, and storage.

- Resolve technical issues related to ESXi clusters, virtual machines, and vCenter operations while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).

Level 2 Support :

- Provide timely and effective Level 2 support for VMware virtualization issues, collaborating with internal teams and clients to resolve complex problems.

- Assist with the identification and root cause analysis of system outages and degraded performance.

Escalation Management :

- If necessary, escalate issues internally within the organization or externally to vendors while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

- Manage vendor interactions for timely resolution of complex technical problems.

4. Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity:

Backup and Recovery Strategy :

- Develop and maintain comprehensive backup strategies for virtualized environments, including VMware-based virtual machines and critical data.

- Implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and rapid recovery in case of data loss or infrastructure failure.

Disaster Recovery Testing :

- Conduct regular disaster recovery drills and testing to ensure that all systems can be restored within defined recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).

- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the reliability and resilience of infrastructure.

5. Reporting and Documentation :

Reporting :

- Prepare and deliver regular reports on system performance, capacity utilization, backup success, and incidents to both internal teams and clients.

- Ensure that all infrastructure activities are documented thoroughly and kept up to date.

Documentation :

- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, change management, troubleshooting steps, and any new implementations.

- Document lessons learned and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

6. Collaboration and Client Interaction :

Client Interaction :

- Act as a key point of contact for the client's virtualization team, engaging with clients to understand requirements and recommend VMware-based solutions.

- Provide clear and transparent communication during issue resolution and project delivery.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Collaborate with other technical teams, including storage, networking, and security, to ensure seamless operation and integration across the data center.

7. Best Practices and Process Improvement :

Promote Best Practices :

- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in VMware and cloud infrastructure management.

- Share new methodologies, tools, and solutions with the team to improve efficiency and performance.

Process Optimization :

- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and automate operational tasks using scripting and VMware management tools.

- Participate in the review of internal processes and recommend improvements.

Desired Skills and Competencies :

Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with VMware products such as ESXi, vCenter, vRA, vROPS, vRLI, NSX-T, and AVI ALB.

- Proficient in managing storage infrastructure with FC and iSCSI SAN.

- Working knowledge of Ubuntu Linux and its integration with VMware environments.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization, network, and storage issues with minimal supervision.

Working Environment :
