Job title : Validation Test Engineer

Experience : Total 3-+Yrs.

Contract Duration : 4 Years

Work Location and Address : Bangalore

In addition to the mandatory skills, the client is also looking for experience in validation testing and knowledge/experience with laptops, desktops, servers, and peripherals (excluding mobile devices).

Shortlisted candidates can be interviewed tomorrow or Thursday. The interview will consist of two rounds (face-to-face) in one day. Once the candidate clears the first face-to-face round (within 30 minutes), the second round will be organized

Key Responsibilities :

Test Documentation & Reporting :

Create and Maintain Test Documentation :

- Design, develop, and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

- Create and update test result reports and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation to track test progress, defect status, and overall test coverage.

- Ensure that test reports are detailed and clearly communicate the status of testing activities to stakeholders, highlighting any issues, progress, and areas for improvement.

Test Reporting & Dashboards :

- Provide regular, detailed test coverage reports, progress updates, and dashboards that communicate key metrics such as test execution progress, pass/fail rates, defect density, and other relevant KPIs.

- Report defects found during testing and track them through resolution using defect tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.

- Ensure all testing activities are documented in accordance with company standards and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Continuous Improvement :

Evaluate Existing Test Processes :

- Regularly evaluate current testing practices, tools, and workflows to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, coverage, and productivity.

- Work with the development and QA teams to optimize test processes, streamline workflows, and enhance test coverage through better test planning and automation.

- Implement strategies for improving automation test coverage, particularly in scenarios where manual testing is repetitive or prone to errors.

Stay Current with Industry Best Practices :

- Continuously stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging testing tools and technologies.

- Incorporate new tools or testing methodologies to improve overall quality and testing performance, such as continuous integration (CI) and continuous testing (CT) processes.

- Recommend and incorporate improvements to the test automation frameworks to ensure scalability, maintainability, and effectiveness.

Hardware & Software Validation :

Platform Testing :

- Perform extensive testing on a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Linux, and various client devices (e.g., laptops, desktops, servers, and peripherals).

- Ensure that software runs as expected across these platforms, including validating configurations, drivers, and compatibility with different hardware components.

Software and Hardware Integration Testing :

- Validate the integration of software and hardware to ensure all components (software, drivers, firmware, and hardware) work seamlessly together.

- Perform end-to-end validation of hardware components (e.g., keyboards, mice, monitors, docking stations, external drives, etc.) to verify proper configuration and compatibility with operating systems and applications.

Driver and Peripheral Compatibility :

- Validate software compatibility with various hardware peripherals including external drives, printers, USB devices, network interfaces, and other external accessories.

- Identify and validate compatibility issues between software, drivers, and hardware components to ensure they function properly in different configurations.

Performance & Reliability Validation :

- Conduct performance testing on various hardware configurations, ensuring that the software meets performance standards across different devices.

- Test software reliability under varying conditions, simulating different user behaviors, system loads, and configurations to ensure stability.
