Component Enginner

• Experince : Track component lifecycles to identify critical and high-risk components in existing products and drive solutions to resolve End-of- Life (EOL), Life-Time-Buy (LTB) and obsolescence (OBS) situations

• Ensure components are compliant to required environmental and safety standards, such as RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc
• Review and address Product Change Notices (PCN s) from component manufacturers
• Support Supply Chain to identify appropriate sources and substitute components suitable for ongoing production requirements for long-lead, out-of-stock or obsolete components and perform component level tests and experiments to ensure form, fit, and function compatibility
• Support outside Contract Manufacturing houses for all technical component issues
• Establish and implement standard titles and descriptions for components
• Involves a strong understanding of electronics, mechanical and electro- mechanical components
• Be able to read datasheets, specs,etc, such that component classification an be performed for plants worldwide
• Be knowledgeable technically and also in terms of communication and other attributes to work with Sanmina s global supply chain and component engineering teams
• Support mass classifications during project migrations, acquisitions, and historic purchase reviews
• Have a good understanding of suppliers supporting electronics manufacturing industries so that supplier name standardization, and negotiator assignments can be performed
• Guide other resources in the team on technical and system related questions
• Develop reports for commodity and supplier related metrics
• Need ability to interface with ERP systems and other systems
• Also need MS Access and MS Excel skills

Qualification : BE in ETC or MSC in Electronics
