Job Description :

As a Senior HPC Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.

You will work with a team of engineers to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and security of the HPC infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot HPC clusters, including hardware and software components.

- Configure parallel file systems (GPFS) to optimize data access and performance.

- Install and configure job schedulers (LSF and SLURM) to efficiently manage workload.

- Deploy and configure cluster management tools (BCM, xCat) to automate system administration tasks.

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot InfiniBand networks for high-speed interconnects.

- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems (SUSE, RHEL, CentOS) and application software.

- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

- Implement security best practices to protect the HPC infrastructure.

- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.

- Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks.

- Optimize system configuration and workload distribution to improve performance.

- Implement performance tuning techniques to maximize resource utilization.

- Plan and execute migrations to new hardware and software versions.

- Upgrade HPC components to ensure compatibility and security.

- Develop migration strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.

- Provide technical support to users and system administrators.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely solutions.

- Document system configurations and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (SUSE, RHEL, CentOS).

- In-depth understanding of HPC architectures and technologies.

- Experience with parallel file systems (GPFS).

- Expertise in job schedulers (LSF, SLURM).

- Proficiency in cluster management tools (BCM, xCat).

- Knowledge of InfiniBand networking.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
