Job Description

Detailed Product Knowledge ofLV Switchgear products , its function and application. (e.g. Contactors,Relays, Starters, ACB, MCB, Fuses, RCDs, DBs & relevant products.)

Knowledge of IS & IECstandards forelectrical switchgear & mechanical assemblies e.g. IEC 60947, IEC 60898.

Budget: As a program manager, work withproject managers to plan & monitor yearly budget of the department.Including local & global activities. Align this with management &different segments. Prepare inputs for years contracts (e.g. IDC, SLAs).Resource planning with demand.

Identify team composition, preparedevelopment plan, align training & development of dept. members to meet theproduct development roadmap. Update & review competency matrix/radar chart.

New Product Development: Guiding team in developing newproducts & also leading as project manager. Brainstorming and creatingideas for new products as per requirements from product management. Guide theteam in making concept design, patent infringement review & new patentapplication, product simulations using finite element techniques, developworking prototype, conduct operational and type test, finalize design, estimateproduct cost and development time plan to facilitate decision on productdelivery. (3D models, drawings, BOM, SAP, documentation)

Identify and implement measuresfor sustainability / environmental topics related to products. To know latestdevelopments & requirements related to RED, EPD, Govt regulations &collaborate with team to implement in the new as well as existing products.
To explore new opportunities ofproducts/improvements. Guide design developers to conceptualize the new ideas,make predictive simulations, build prototypes & evaluate performance tosupport business case & its viability.

Support the Product Group teams: in Design to Cost, Continuous improvement of product design, ProductLocalization projects.

Support in lab upgradation/investmentwith Test Lab in-charge as necessary w.r.t. product roadmap.
Support in internal &external ISO audit. (Documentation, processes)
Support plant/dept ondigitalization topics, including cybersecurity.

Team Management &Collaboration:

Define roles andresponsibilities, Set clear objectives for Dept e.g. KPIs & Team members.Communicate expectations, goals/targets and feedback to the group regularly andresolve any concerns or issues actively.
Ability to demonstrate resiliencein demanding situations.
Provide timely feedback andencourage professional development of team & competency building as perproduct roadmap. Support team members professional development by providingopportunities for training and growth.
Adapt to make strategicdecisions to ensure business success.

Identify and address conflictsearly, facilitating discussions and finding satisfactory solutions.

Mustrequirements:

10-15 years experience of working inR&D of switchgear products with hands-on experience of new productdevelopment

Experience in development &qualification of L.V. switchgear products.

Degreein Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Sound knowledge of physics & FEsimulations e.g. Structural, Electro-thermal, electro-magnetic, motion etc..

Trained in project management e.g. PMBOK Guide.

Candidate must have professional English written / verbal / interpersonalcommunication skills .
