IT Manager

Role & responsibilities

• IT Infrastructure Management:
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of campus-wide networks, servers, and systems.
• Ensure smooth functioning of hardware, software, and learning management systems (LMS) used by faculty, staff, and students.
• Academic & Research Support:
• Collaborate with academic departments to support teaching technologies, online learning platforms, and research computing needs.
• Implement and maintain systems for virtual classrooms, e-learning, and remote access for students and staff.
• System Security:
• Implement cybersecurity measures to protect university data, including student records and research data.
• Manage disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with data protection regulations like FERPA.
• Campus IT Support:
• Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students for both administrative and academic systems.
• Establish and maintain a helpdesk for troubleshooting technology issues across the campus.
• Project Management:
• Lead IT projects related to the development and upgrading of university systems, including student information systems, library systems, and research platforms.
• Coordinate technology upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor the universitys IT staff, including helpdesk support, system administrators, and network specialists.
• Allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines and support university operations.
• Vendor and Budget Management:
• Oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
• Manage the IT departments budget, ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of hardware, software, and services.
