They diagnose issues, perform repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, and manage spare parts inventory
The role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail
Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance:Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and repair them to minimize downtime
Collaborate with production and operations teams to prioritize maintenance tasks based on production needs
Troubleshooting and Repairs:Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and resolve issues in a timely manner
Analyze equipment performance data and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency
Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems, ensuring proper functioning of equipment
Documentation:Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts replacement and repairs performed
Create and update equipment manuals, documenting specifications, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Spare Parts Management:Manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of critical spare parts
Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs while ensuring timely availability of necessary parts
Safety and Compliance:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks
Ensure that all equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement necessary improvements
Team Collaboration:Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff to share knowledge and best practices
Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff when necessary
Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
Stay updated with the latest maintenance techniques and technologies to enhance efficiency
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a relevant industry
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
Familiarity with maintenance software and computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
