Position Overview:

The Security Incharge in Logistics is responsible for overseeing and implementing security protocols and measures within a logistics environment. This role involves ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and information, as well as mitigating risks associated with transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Strategy Development: Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to the logistics environment. This includes assessing risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and establishing measures to mitigate potential threats.
2. Surveillance and Monitoring: Utilize surveillance systems, such as CCTV cameras and monitoring software, to oversee the premises, vehicles, and personnel. Conduct regular patrols and inspections to maintain a visible security presence.
3. Access Control: Manage access control systems to regulate entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the premises. Implement badge systems, biometric scanners, or other access control measures as necessary.
4. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments to identify security threats and vulnerabilities. Develop contingency plans and response protocols to address various security incidents, such as theft, vandalism, or trespassing.
5. Security Training and Awareness: Provide security training and awareness programs to logistics staff, contractors, and partners. Educate personnel on security best practices, emergency procedures, and incident reporting protocols.
6. Investigations and Incident Response: Lead investigations into security breaches, thefts, or other incidents. Collect evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed. Develop post-incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements, such as those outlined by transportation authorities or regulatory agencies. Keep abreast of changes in security legislation and adjust protocols accordingly.
8. Security Technology Management: Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and optimization of security technology and equipment, including alarms, access control systems, and communication devices. Coordinate with IT and facilities teams to address technical issues promptly.
9. Vendor Management: Collaborate with security service providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure the delivery of effective security solutions and services. Monitor vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and evaluate the suitability of third-party security products or services.
10. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as natural disasters, terrorist threats, or supply chain disruptions. Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency protocols and enhance preparedness.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in security management, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, and intrusion detection systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective security solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse
