Senior Staff Engineer (Big Data)

REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, with hands-on experience in managing and deploying scalable data solutions.
• Proficiency in Databricks and Spark for big data processing.
• Strong programming skills in Python, including libraries especially PySpark.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with data engineering frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of retail domain concepts and the ability to align data solutions with retail-specific use cases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines and analytics tools.
• Certification in AWS or Databricks is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for large-scale data systems.
• Build and maintain data architectures on AWS using services such as S3, Redshift, PySpark, Lambda, and Spark SQL.
• Implement and manage data solutions using Databricks, including Spark-based transformations and workflows.
• Develop and maintain robust, reusable, and efficient code using Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions tailored to the retail domain.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and governance across all platforms.
