Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) roles in the mining industry include operating, maintaining, and repairing the machinery used in mining and earth-moving activities:

• HEMM operatorResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery like bulldozers, excavators, and dump trucks. They also perform routine maintenance checks and ensure the smooth running of mining operations.
• HEMM engineerResponsible for leading engine overhauling technicians and supervisors. They also diagnose engine faults, rebuild major engine components, and perform performance tests.
• HEMM electricianResponsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the electrical and electronic systems of HEMM. They diagnose faults, dismantle the HEMM, and check wiring and electrical connections.
• HEMM mechanic Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and servicing HEMM. They also perform repairs on internal combustion engines.
